Mildred E. Decker, age 90, formerly of Lacey St. and Second St., Laceyville, PA passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 14, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA where she was a resident since February.
Mildred was born on June 1, 1922 in West Nicholson, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Emily Rundle Carey.
Mildred was a member of the West Nicholson United Methodist Church. She loved to bake, cook, and being surrounded by her family
Mildred is survived by her son David Decker and wife Bonnie of St. Augustine, FL; daughter Emily Bitler of Laceyville, PA; brother Carl and his wife Shirley Carey of West Nicholson, PA; and brother Charles Carey of Falls, PA.; sisters Shirley Wood of West Nicholson, PA and Pearl Larue of Dimock, PA; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Decker (1991), her son Edwin Decker (August 5, 2002), her son in law Edward Bitler (Nov. 23,2000), a great granddaughter Brittney Devine and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville with Rev. Pat Newhart of Beaver Meadows United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Lacey St. Cemetery in Laceyville. Family and friends may call at the funeral before the funeral service on Saturday from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM.
