Obituary

Milton P. Morse Jr., age 66, of Taylor, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, PA.

Milton was born on September 14, 1951, the son of the late Milton P. Morse Sr., who passed away on December 5, 2009 and Edna Huffman Morse of Camptown, PA. Milton was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the Class of 1969. He continued his education at Bloomsburg University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He worked for the state of Pennsylvania, Lackawanna County, for over 10 years as an examiner at the unemployment department in Olyphant, PA.

Milton was an eagle scout. He was a friend of Bill W and shared his experience of strength and hope with many others. His sharing and experiences helped many people. He was an avid runner and was part of the running group Barrier Breakers in Scranton, PA. He ran in the first ever Camptown Races as well as the 50th running of the Camptown Races. He also loved playing golf. He was a sports enthusiast, as he was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots. He was also a huge fan of Penn State Nittany Lion Football. Milton was a very caring man as he was the caregiver for his mother. Most of all Milton loved his family very much.

Besides his mother, Milton is survived by his two sons, Milton P. Morse III (Kelly O'Brien) of Worchester, MA; and Matthew Morse of Charleston, SC. Also surviving is his sister Kathy and Robert Bilinsky of North Huntingdon, PA; sister Elizabeth and Robert French of Fredericksburg, PA; sister Lana Watson of Port Saint Lucie, FL; sister Nancy Winterringer (Jim Calhoun) of Wyalusing, PA; sister Valorie and Dave Jenkins of Cocoa, FL; the mother of his children Rebecca Leonard; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Milton will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Sheldon Funeral Home, SR 6 Main Street, Meshoppen, PA with his nephew Pastor Robert French II of the Revived Community Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
