Miriam "Mimi" A. Arey, age 90, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on May 1, 2019 at the Guthrie Towanda Personal Care Home.

Miriam was born on August 12, 1928 in Sayre, PA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys Beaumont Dibble. She was a graduate of Wyalusing High School.

She married James L. Arey on August 7, 1948 and together they spent over 70 years together. Mimi was a homemaker and housewife for her family.

Mimi was a member of her high school basketball team. She enjoyed horses, gardening, cooking, and baking. She took great pleasure in feeding wild birds and watching hummingbirds. Most of all she loved spending time with all of her family.

Besides her husband Mimi is survived by her children, Donna Ace and her husband, Brian, of Romulus, NY and Jim Arey, Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Harrisburg, PA; her son-in-law, Jan Brown, of Sugar Run, PA; her grandchildren, Wayne Felter, II, Jesse Brown, Jim Arey, III (Ginny), Josh Arey (Christina), Janet Hopta (Jon); her great-grandchildren, Braden Felter, Mitchell Felter, TJ Arey, Luke Arey, Declan Arey, Grant Hopta, and Natalie Hopta; her sister, Norma Dunklee of Roseville, MN; as well as many nieces, nephew, sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Brown (d. March 9, 2004), and sisters, Joanne Grobelny, Patricia Quigley.

Abiding by Mimi's wishes there will be no services at this time.  Instead she wished that everyone that loved her and knew her would have a banana split while remembering her.

Mimi's family sincerely thanks the Guthrie Towanda Personal Care Home Staff for their care and love during her stay with them.
