Nancy J. Brewer McGavin, age 74, of Tunkhannock, PA (formerly of Meshoppen, PA) passed away on Sunday evening, May 24, 2026 at the Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Taylor, PA.

She was born on August 26, 1951 in Meshoppen, PA. She was the daughter of the late Harold (d. 1972) and Betty Ladner Brewer (d. 1984). She was a graduate of Elk Lake High School.

Nancy was a homemaker for her family and enjoyed sewing, cooking and tending to her flowers. She was an avid reader and watched soap operas. She took pleasure in dancing with her companion, Red Gruver.

Nancy is survived by her children, Douglas Davis of Meshoppen, PA, Gerald McGavin, Jr. of Black Walnut, PA, and Tama Bogardus (Craig) of Milford, PA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her companion, Leonard “Red” Gruver; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel J. Davis (d. 2017); her grandson, Tyler Davis (d. 2026), and her husband, Gerald McGavin (d. 2009).

Abiding by Nancy’s wishes services will be held at a later date.
