Naomi "Jean" Jayne was born in Meshoppen PA on September 29, 1935.  Jean was a graduate of Meshoppen High School (class of 1953).  After High School, Jean married Philip Jayne, and started a family.  In the early 1970's, Jean returned to school to become a beautician.

She opened a salon in Meshoppen, which she operated for over 25 years. Many of her clients became life-long friends. Jean was active in her community, and enjoyed travelling with friends (her trip to Sedona, AZ was a particularly fond memory), all while raising a family of three sons and two daughters.

After retirement, she enjoyed many years antiquing, decorating and gardening at her farm house in Auburn Township where her family still gathers today.

Jean passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023 at Meadow View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Montrose, PA.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Jean is remembered lovingly by her children and their spouses: Donald Jayne, Ronald Jayne, Gary Jayne (Eileen), Philis Notley (Rob) and Brenda Decker (Dan).  She had 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Williams, (Scott), Shad Newhart (Jennifer), Stephen Newhart (Shannon), Silver Matriccino (Jesse), Jeremy Jayne (Nicole), Siobhan Koch (Evan), Alex Jayne (Katie), Kiley Ringer (Dave), Gillian Notley, and Lucas Craft; 13 great-grandchildren, Jourdaine (Matt), Sydney (Maddie), Scott Jr., Alexandra, Stephen Jr., Cooper, Elisa, Hudson, Bellamy, Nolan, Connor, Lennon, and Liza; and many nieces and nephews.  Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Warren Prevost, Elizabeth Grieve and Bobby Oliver and her parents, Jessie and Warren Prevost.

We all have fond memories of Jean presiding over many large family gatherings at the Jayne farm and are comforted knowing that although we have lost her, heaven has gained an expert hair stylist with a sharp sense of humor and a heart full of love.

Services will be held privately at a later date.
