Obituary

Norma J Trowbridge of Laceyville PA, born April 1, 1935, passed away February 3, 2016, surrounded by many loved ones. She was the daughter of Cleon Woodruff and Edna (Ellie) Matthews Woodruff Giannini, both deceased. Married to the late Robert (Don) Trowbridge on July 12, 1953, Norma was a devoted wife for 53 years. Besides her husband, Robert, who passed away May 16, 2006, Norma was preceded in death by her great grandson, Caleb Michael Roberts on March 25, 1999.

Norma is survived by five children, Richard (Debbie) Trowbridge of Owego, NY, Ronald (Kathy) Trowbridge of Wyalusing, PA, Cheryl (Rip) VanWinkle of Towanda, PA, Donna DeWald of Culpeper, VA and Patricia Trowbridge and Dwayne Lockburner of Laceyville, PA with whom Norma resided with for the last 3 years. Also surviving are her brothers Leon (Audrey) Woodruff of Dushore, PA, Eugene (Jeannie) Woodruff of Tunkhannock PA and sister Margaret Manning of NC.

Norma provided unconditional love to 16 grandchildren, Erin (Rob) Detrick, Rick Trowbridge, Luke (Dianna) Trowbridge, Brent (Beth) Trowbridge, Erica (Aaron) Kuzmick, Meghan (Ben) Kershner, Ray (Kim) Roberts III, April (Adam) Scripture, Bryan Ward, Deana (Todd) Shaffer, Denise (Jason) Murray, Danielle DeWald, Debbie DeWald, Scott (Rebecca) Walton, Christopher (Erica) Walton, and Matthew (Ashleigh) Walton.

Born in Tunkhannock, Norma was raised in Silvara and graduated from Laceyville High School in 1953. Over the years, she had worked as a cafeteria worker at the Laceyville grade school, cleaned houses in the Laceyville area, serviced the vending machines for Service America at P&G, in Mehoopany, PA, and her favorite job as Librarian also in Mehoopany. In her spare time, over the years Norma enjoyed reading, crocheting, canning, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren, as well as taking care of her precious dog "Bobbie".

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mehoopany Library or Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 8, 2016, at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA, with Rev. Charles Bishop, a long time family friend officiating. Interment will follow at the North Flat Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
