Norman Robert Sick, age 65, formerly of Lovelton, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Center, Wesley Village in Pittston, PA after a long battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA).

Norman was born in Meshoppen, PA on February 19, 1951, the son of the late Robert H. Sick who passed away in 1983 and Dorothy Potter Sick who passed away in 2003. Norman graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School as the class Valedictorian with the class 1969. He later graduated from Penn State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Electrical Engineering. Norman worked as an electrical engineer for various defense contractors including Raytheon of Falls Church, VA, in which he retired from in 2002.

Norman was a member of the Hollenback United Methodist Church and was a member of the National Honor Society at Wyalusing Valley High School. He enjoyed photography and made home videos from the pictures and videos he took over the years. Norman enjoyed the outdoors and riding horses, starting from his early childhood growing up on a farm. He also enjoyed singing, watching movies, visiting numerous museums, and historical sites, and most of all he liked spending time with his family.

Norman is survived by his two sisters Joyce Roland of Edgewood, MD and Connie Bliss and her husband Thomas of Wilmot Township, PA. He is also survived by his nephew Daniel and Cindy Goodwin of Wilmot Township, PA; niece Janice and Jim Copp of Wilmot Township, PA; nephew Eric and Jennifer Roland of Abingdon, MD; nephew Craig and Rachel Roland of Heflin, AL; nephew David Bliss of Harrisburg, PA; and nephew Steven Bliss of York, PA, as well as his extended family that includes many cousins, great/great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Edith Goodwin (February 23, 2012) and brother-in-law Ronald Roland (September 18, 2009).

Funeral services for Norman will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 12 noon at the Forkston United Methodist Church with Reverend Joshua Yorks of the church officiating. Interment will be held at the Forkston Cemetery following the service. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Partridge-Tippett Nursing Center, Wesley Village, for their wonderful compassionate care of Norman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Forkston Cemetery Association or the Forkston United Methodist Church.
