In her spare time, she loved working in her flower beds, and garden. She also enjoyed painting ceramics, working on jig saw puzzles, but especially enjoyed family gatherings, and spending many enjoyable moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Paulette is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gordon Dale Bates Sr., of Stevensville, PA. Her children, Gordon and Jill Bates Jr. of Towanda, PA; and Nikki Bates (Joe LaRue) of Stevensville, PA. Three grandchildren, Austin Madill (Amanda Kesler) of Lawton, PA, Dylan Bates and Destiny Bates, both of Towanda, PA; and two great-grandchildren, Savannah Powers, and Lincoln Madill. She also is survived by her siblings, Ed and Doris Newhart, of Kirkwood, NY; Diane and Ken Bates, of Wyalusing, PA; Emma and Tom Sobonski, of Friendsville, PA; Karen Newhart Fitch, of Iowa; Elisha Newhart (Cindy Pellew) of Friendsville, PA; and David and Debra Newhart of Friendsville, PA; and her extended family, Joyce Bates, of Pennsylvania; and Ron and Evonne Bates, of Wyalusing, PA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paulette also leaves behind her faithful, and favorite dog and companion, Molly. She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Newhart Jr., on October 13, 2013; and her Mother in law and Father in Law, Mildred and Wilfred Bates.

Being a very private person and abiding with Paulette's wishes, there will be no calling hours, or funeral services. Interment will be at the convenience of the Bates Family.
