Philip Scott Allen, age 71, of Laceyville, PA, passed away at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA, on Wednesday evening, September 9, 2026.

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on March 9, 1955, he was the son of the late Sheldon and Sophie Budzianowski Allen.

After graduating from high school, Philip moved to California. While on the West Coast and driving cross-country, he was inspired to begin a career as a truck driver and eventually found employment with Penns Best Trucking, where he delivered goods across the country for over 30 years.

When not on the road, he could most likely be found on a golf course somewhere between Pennsylvania and the Carolinas. He was an avid golfer and often took trips with close friends to share his joy in the sport. He was also a big sports fan and loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Boston Red Sox. Philip also liked watching Jeopardy and competing along with the contestants. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and being "Great Grampy" to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Michael Allen of Wyalusing, PA; Trisha Allen of Laceyville, PA; and Amy Allen (Jonathan Smith) of Laceyville, PA; his grandchildren, Bronson Allen, Avannah Martin, and Sabella Smith; and his siblings, Gary Allen, Sharon Allen, and Gail Tyer.

Along with his parents, Philip is preceded in death by his sister, Susie Gerard.

A Celebration of Philip's life will be held on September 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Sheldon Funeral Homes, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA 18623.
