Philip D. Crouthamel, age 78, of Wyalusing, PA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

He was born on January 3, 1946 in Quakertown, PA the son of the late Paul W. and Evelyn M. (Rummel) Crouthamel.

Phil worked for many years as a truck driver for Taylor Beef, Arrow United, Landis, and Auckland Farms, where he retired.  He was a skilled craftsman as well and very proud of the houses and many other projects he built for his family.  Phil enjoyed hunting and hosting family and friends every season.  His love for nature extended to caring for the wildlife around his home, bringing him daily delight.  Phil was a wonderful storyteller bringing smiles to those around him.  He was a dedicated father to his children and he cherished his time as the Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in town and volunteered his time whenever needed.

Phil is survived by his children, Philip P. Crouthamel and his wife, Michelle, of York, PA, Michael Crouthamel of Wyalusing, PA, and Cynthia Blackwell and her husband, Alan, of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Jacob and Kyle Blackwell and Emily, Matthew and Luke Crouthamel; his siblings, James Crouthamel (Gerry), Eleanor Procht, Mary Kelly, Kathy Stubbs (Ronald), Lou Ann Massey, and Kerry Crouthamel (Terri); his brother-in-law, James Ottinger; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Ottinger (d. July 13, 2023).

A memorial service for Phil will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13 from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with the Reverend Jira Albers officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 12 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
