Philip L. "Lynn" Hogan, age 84, of 517 Hogan Rd, Sugar Run, PA (Sugar Hill) passed away late Thursday evening, January 24, 2013.
Lynn, also known as Pop was born on February 18, 1928 in Weehawken, NJ the son of the late Philip Christopher and Gertrude Lynn Hogan.
Lynn served his country in US Army during the Korean War.
Pop drove school bus in the Wyalusing Valley School District for many years. He was also a chef. He was a member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534. Pop was most noted for his quick wit and good humor. Most of all he loved his children and grand children.
Lynn is survived by his sons Michael L. Hogan of Sugar Run, PA, Philip L. Hogan, Jr. (Danielle Bonavita) of S. Montrose, PA, his daughters Dorothy L. Eastabrook (David) of Herrickville, PA and Penny L. Hamilton (Terry) of Sugar Run, PA, his grandchildren Aaron, Jesse, Lucas (Katie), John, Miranda, and Collin, his great grandchildren Chasity, Matais, and Carlee Ann. Also surviving are special friends Richard Davis and Walter Lohman and his faithful companion Minnie. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Barbara Ann Hogan, who passed away on December 25, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA with Pastor Mike MacWhinnie of the Moxie Community Church and Rev. Richard Davis of Memorial Hospice officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Cemetery with Military Services conducted by the members of the Wyalusing American Legion Post # 534. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make memorial donations may do so in Lynn's name to the Wyalusing Public Library, 202 Church Rd, Wyalusing, PA 18853, the Salvation Army, 218 Main St, Towanda, PA 18848, or Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1 Hospital Dr, Towanda, PA 18848.
