Phyllis Louise Brown, age 63, passed away at her home in Scottsville, on Friday afternoon, September 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born in Montrose, PA, on November 20, 1959, the daughter of Louise Ann Heeman Norton, who passed away on October 11, 2013, and Phillip G. Norton, of Silvara, PA. Growing up in Silvara, Phyllis was a graduate of Wyalusing High School with the class of 1977. She would later receive her Associates Degree in Psychology from Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA.

For over 25 years, Phyllis was employed by the Lander Company in the Binghamton, NY area, where she would eventually work her way up to a management position. After obtaining her degree, Phyllis, pursued her career in Behavioral Health.

For the last few years, Phyllis spent many months, weeks, days and hours, caring for and sitting with her sisters, Penni Pilch, who passed away on March 8, 2022, and Cathy Johnson, who just passed away on July 16, 2023. Phyllis was a very caring person that took her role as the older sister very seriously.

Over the years, she loved spending her time making wreaths, for the special holidays, tending her flowers gardens around her home, and loved going to the beach up and down the eastern coast. Most of all she cherished all of the time that she got to spend with her family.

Beside her father, Phyllis is survived by her husband, Terry L. Brown, of Scottsville, who she married on May 6, 1995. Her children Jon Brown (Lindsay Cronauer), and Tonya Brown, all of Laceyville, PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Dakota Brown, Malorie Brown, Emma Jagger, Ethan Brown, Trenton Lis, Aden Liddick, Allie Liddick, and Greyson Liddick. Her brother, Allen (Kimberely) Norton, of Newark Valley, NY, and her sister, Jennifer Norton, of Silvara, PA, her sister-in-law, Kimberlee Norton, of Lawrenceville, GA, and brother-in-law, Ronald Pilch, of South Auburn, PA.  Phyllis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. As well as her extended family of many brothers in laws and sisters in laws.

Besides her mother, Louise Norton, and sisters Penni Pilch, and Cathy Johnson, she is also preceded in death by her two sons, Greg Liddick (d. May 15, 2019), Michael Liddick (d. August 8, 2021), and her brother, John Norton (d. January 17, 2012).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning, October 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St, Laceyville, PA with her very good friend, Rev. Terri Wagner, of Faith Alive Ministries officiating. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery, in Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
