Obituary
Rachel L. (Newhart) Manning, age 43 of Laceyville, PA lost a courageous battle with cancer on May 17, 2018.
She was born on December 24, 1974 in Tunkhannock, PA the daughter of Russell "Rusty" and Genevieve "Jenny" Newhart III of Laceyville, PA.
Rachel attended Wyalusing Valley High School and graduated from Elk Lake High School. She obtained her LPN Degree from the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center. Rachel had a special way of caring for people. She was a private caregiver employed with Carpenter Care, also several years as a CNA for Hospice. She was currently employed at Meadow View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Montrose, PA.
Rachel was very creative and painting was a passion. She enjoyed camping in her "summer home" camper. She took great pleasure in sitting around the campfire, spending time at the beach, and going for walks. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Rachel had four children, Troy S. Newhart and his fiancé, Sarah Harcourt, of King George, VA, Dalton James Manning (Saria Brewer) of Tunkhannock, PA, Mattison Manning of Laceyville, PA, and infant son, Clay Anthony Manning, who passed away on January 10, 2000. Besides her parents she is also survived by her two grandchildren Kirra and Kenna; her sisters Nicole Mosher and her husband Cody of Laceyville, PA and Erica Newhart of Laceyville, PA; her brother Anthony Newhart (Chantel Surrett) of West Auburn, PA; her paternal grandmother Marcia Newhart of West Auburn; her nieces Cheyenne Learn, Riley Smith, Jenna Robinson, and Hailey, Jocelyn, and Ava Newhart; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 6:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA with Reverend Charles Bishop of the Elk Lake and Transue Community Churches officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
