Obituary

Ralph R. Milliron Jr., age 83, of Laceyville, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday Morning, February 6, 2025, at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

He was born on July 7, 1941, in West Chester, PA, the son of Ralph R. Milliron, Sr. (d. January 14, 1988) and Mary Linden Hickman Milliron (d. March 15, 2014). Growing up in Chester County, Ralph was a student at Downingtown High School, where he graduated in 1959.

While living in Chester County, Ralph found his passion in the Chester County 4-H program. Starting at the age of 8, he showed pigs. He continued his 4-H career for 13 years, ending his time as a youth member at 21 in the Wyoming County 4-H program, where he was a master showman showing dairy cows. Ralph carried this passion for showing dairy cows and passed it down to his children.

After high school, Ralph met the love of his life, Gloria Garris Milliron, whom Ralph married on March 25, 1960 and soon started their family.

Over Ralph's life, he worked as a truck driver for many of the local trucking companies, and he retired from AWI with a perfect safety record. Ralph also worked as a welder for Cornell Manufacturing, along with his years of dedicated work to the family farm.

When Ralph was not working, he spent his time at the Braintrim Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member for many years, even serving as one of the Church Trustees. He also really enjoyed the Van ministries, sang in the Choir, and helped with the AWANA Program. Ralph also had a knack for roller skating, which he was exceptionally good at.

Ralph was also a member of the Allis Chambers Club in Minnesota, which were his favorite farming tractors, and he loved to mow his lawn with his John Deere mowers. He also loved to have lunch at Mark's Valley Veiw with his close friend, Richard Green. Most importantly, Ralph loves to spend time with his family.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Gloria Milliron of Laceyville, PA; children Melissa Manning (Stewart) of Tunkhannock; Karl Milliron of Laceyville, PA.; Conrad Milliron (Jennifer) of DuBois, PA; Erik Milliron of Tunkhannock, PA; Sabrina Milliron of Moosic, PA; Thomas Milliron (Mindy) of Rome, PA and Andrew Milliron of Phoenix, AZ. 17 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandson; his brother James Milliron (Kelly), of Laceyville, PA, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Ralph is also preceded in death by his son, Aaron A. Milliron (d. October 20, 2021), sister, Alice Brinton (d. September 23, 2018), father/mother-in-law, Charles Garris (d. 1976) and Alice Smith Garris (d. June 3, 2009).

A private service for Ralph will be held at the family's convenience with his Pastor, Joseph Kilmer of the Braintrim Baptist Church officiating.  His interment will take place at the North Flat Cemetery.
