Ralph Tewksbury, an adoring husband, loving father, devoted family member, and native son of Laceyville passed away on January 17, 2024.

Ralph, affectionately known as Damon and the oldest son of Ralph Sr. and Betty, grew up on Spring Hill with seven siblings: Beverly, Betsy, Bruce, Brian, Bart, Brett, and Ben. Known for his strong work ethic and a grit that was instilled by his father while working their dairy farm, Ralph grew up hunting the land and his relationship with his family and community were cornerstones of who he was.

A hall of fame wrestler at Wyalusing Valley High, he earned an opportunity to compete collegiately in Minnesota, achieving a rank of 6th in the nation. After returning to Pennsylvania, he fell in love with a beautiful girl named Doreen and they remained married for 54 years. Ralph proudly served as a Marine before starting a successful career in the lumber industry. His professional life took him to New York, Michigan, and North Carolina and he was regarded as an engaged, hardworking, and affable leader who would get his hands dirty and pitch in wherever needed.

As a father, he always strived to be the best he could be. His daughter Lori, with husband Brian, and son Ryan, with wife Lacy, gave him three of his most cherished gifts, grandchildren Haley, Austin, and Brinley. Ralph worked to pass on the same core values he was raised with and modeled the importance of family and responsibility to support each other in tough times.

Working in North Carolina allowed Ralph to play a direct role in Haley and Austin's life for almost 20 years and they are blessed to have a "Poppy" that relished every opportunity to cheer them on. Upon retirement, Ralph was beyond excited to join Ryan in working his ranch in Texas. Every family hunting trip, race, and cattle auction achieved his goal of creating new memories with Ryan and his family.

While we are all saddened by Ralph's passing, we are at peace knowing he is laughing, dancing, and watching over us with those that have passed before him.
