Mr. Randel A. Donahue, age 85 formally of Laceyville, PA, passed away early Monday morning, May 13, 2019, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Randel was reunited with his wife of 45 years, Helen M. Long Donahue, who passed away on April 25, 2000.

Randel was born on March 22, 1934 in West Auburn, PA, the son of the late Michael P. Donahue and Celia Nichols Donahue Benscoter. Growing up in West Auburn, Randel was a graduate of the Laceyville High School with the class of 1952. Randel worked for the next couple of years at the Crowley Saw Mill, in Birchardville, PA; later, he was employed as a feed truck driver for Vandervort Mills, in Laceyville, PA delivering feed to farms in Wyoming, Susquehanna, and Bradford counties. Then Randel retired from Sylvania, in Towanda, PA, after 35 years of service.

He and his beloved wife Helen loved attending the local square dancing events around the area.  After retirement they loved traveling with friends with their motorhome.  He enjoyed attending the antique car shows, bluegrass festivals and he especially loved going to his niece Marge Harvey's house for their famous musical jams and other outings with his daughters.

Surviving are his loving family Robert and Vicky Long of Laceyville, PA, Sandra and John Merritt of LeRaysville PA, Kathy and Gary Kulah of Auburn Center PA and Sharon and Norm Wood of Laceyville PA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren with one more due in October; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Fred Benscoter; a sister and her late husband, Bessie and Gerald Benscoter; a sister, Margaret Donahue; step-brother, Boyd Benscoter; and step-sister, Joyce Hunsinger.

Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Church officiating.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery, at a later date.
