Raymond Edward Sickler "Sickie", of Laceyville, PA, passed away early Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Ray was born on January 4, 1948 in Noxen, PA the son of the late Raymond Edward Siglen and Lela Hazel Loveland Cunningham. Ray graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School with the Class of 1966. He worked for Cornell Manufacturing in Laceyville and Arrow United in Wyalusing. He was also a bartender for the Eddy Hotel in Laceyville and Bears Den in Meshoppen. He was forced into retirement because of his health in 2007.
Ray was an avid sports fan, following many MLB and NFL teams. He was a very passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Reds. In his early years, Ray was a coach for several Laceyville Little League Baseball teams. Ray also followed all of the teams coming into the Little League World Series, and was able to attend many games in Williamsport within the last few years.
Ray is survived by his sisters Hazel St. Clair-Cole and her husband Randy of Tunkhannock, PA; and Alberta Rogo and her husband Frank of Laceyville, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as special friends Pam Woodruff of Laceyville, PA and Bill Clark of Factoryville, PA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were entrusted with Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main Street, Laceyville, PA.
