Regina M. McGavin, age 83, of Meshoppen, PA passed away on Christmas Day, Monday afternoon, December 25, 2017 at her home with her daughter Sharon by her side.

She was born on October 28, 1934 in Binghamton, NY the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Gudauskaus Charno. She was a graduate of the Binghamton Central High School with the class of 1953.

Regina married the late John A. McGavin on July 19, 1958 and together they owned and operated their family farm on McGavin Road in Auburn township, Meshoppen.

She was a member of the St. Bonaventure and St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Susquehanna County 4-H. She enjoyed to knit, crochet, garden, and travel. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

Regina is survived by her daughters, Sharon McGavin of Meshoppen, PA and Lorraine McGavin Rumbarger and her husband David of Corning, NY; her sister-in-law, Katherine Williamson of Chalfont, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John A. McGavin (d. May 1, 2009) and her brother Alger Charno.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Regina will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, Meshoppen, PA, with Father Joseph Manarchuck, of the church officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Bonaventure's Cemetery, in Auburn, PA. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA on Thursday morning, from 9:00-10:00 AM with Transferal Prayers beginning at 10:00 AM.
