Rexford Lee Gregory Sr. age 64, of Meshoppen, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Rex was born on September 21, 1953 in East Lemon, PA, the son of the late George Gregory Sr., who passed away on January 11, 1964 and Catherine Gregory, who passed away on December 8, 2017.

Rex attended Elk Lake High School. He worked as a contractor for bridge construction in the area. Rex enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcutting, collecting mowers, and mowing lawn. But most of all Rex loved his family and spending time with his family.

Rex is survived by his fiancé of 14 years, Donna Shoemaker of Meshoppen, PA; his son Rexford Gregory Jr. and his wife Kandi of Montrose, PA; his daughter Georgina Gregory, of Springville, PA; his grandchildren Rexford Gregory III, Cheyenne Gregory, Jamie Wandall, Starr Nonnemacher, Destiny Nonnemacher, Dakota Herne, Destiny Warfle, and Searra Warfle; and his great-granddaughter Nevaeh Warfle. Also surviving are his siblings Evelyn "Maggie" Hegedty of Laceyville, PA; George Gregory and his wife Carol of Meshoppen, PA; Patricia Barrett and her husband James of Hayesville, NC; Pam Stoddard (Lenny Fitzgerald) of Dushore, PA; Willowmea "Willie" Hoover and her husband Robert of Dushore, PA; and Dawn Drozd (Scott Christ) of New Albany, PA; his best friend Peter and Sue Teetsel of Meshoppen, PA, and Albert and Allyson Harvey of Harveys Lake, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his nephew Bobby Welles; niece Angel Welles Jones, niece Lisa Vaow, and nephew Joseph Drozd.

Funeral services for Rex will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6 Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Gary Myers of the Biblical Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, June 19, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made toward the funeral expenses for Rex.
