Obituary
Richard M. Champluvier, age 68, of Wyalusing, PA passed away Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016 at the Bradford County Manor in Troy, PA.
Richard was born on June 19, 1948 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Royal C. and Gertrude H. Hendershot Champluvier. He graduated from Wyalusing Area High School with the Class of 1966. He married the former Kay C. Hoffman on March 18, 1972. Richard was a dairy farmer for Lime-Val Farm, a family farm in which he farmed with his wife and son, Bryan.
Richard was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Towanda, PA. He was a former 4-H leader, a member of the National Holstein Association, and a former member of the Wyalusing Volunteer Fire Department. Richard bowled in leagues at Mountainside Lanes and he enjoyed playing softball when he was younger. He also loved to hunt. He was an avid fan of Wyalusing Rams Wrestling, Philadelphia Phillies, and Penn State. Farming was Richard's life but he loved to spend time with his family and he adored his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kay of Wyalusing, PA; his children Kelly S. McNemar (Paul) of Orefield, PA; Amy L. Champluvier of Wyalusing, PA; Holly E. Champluvier (Aaron Lineberry Sr.) of Towanda, PA; and Bryan R. Champluvier of Wyalusing, PA. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren Brittany and fiancé Andrew; Samantha; Rachel; Allie; Brock; Olivia; Aaron Jr.; Thomas; Jacob. Mother-in-law Dorothy M. Hoffman of Emmaus, PA; sister Janice L. Latimer of Towanda, PA; sister –in-law Elizabeth McGouirk (Cecil) of Columbus, GA; brother-in-law Howard Hoffman (Linda) of Emmaus, PA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents Richard was preceded in death by his father-in-law Herman F. Hoffman and brother-in-law Richard D. Latimer.
Funeral services for Richard will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Towanda, PA with the Reverend Jira Albers and Vicar Paul Theiss both of the church officiating. Interment will follow at the Lime Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM.
