Richard A. Voda, age 79, of Laceyville, PA passed away at his home in Laceyville, PA on Saturday afternoon, August 30, 2025 while in the presence of his loving wife of 57 years, Linda.
Born in Meshoppen, PA on August 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Ambrose "Ham" and Elizabeth Tokasz Voda. Growing up in the Laceyville area, Richard attended Wyalusing High School and graduated with the class of 1966.
Richard was a skilled machinist who was employed with the Bendix Corporation in Montrose, PA for over 30 years. When not working, Richard could usually be found outside. To say that he was on avid outdoorsman would be an understatement. Whether he was hunting, fishing, trapping, or cutting wood, Richard was most content in the outdoors and in the presence of nature. Richard was also a loyal member of the Black Walnut American Legion post
Along with his wife, Linda, Richard is survived by his children, Richard "Banjo" Voda (Jennifer) of Wyalusing, PA and Jason Voda (Claudia Price) of Houston, TX; his siblings, Tom Voda (Lynne) of Laceyville, PA, and Carol Owen (Daryle "Woody") of Silvara, PA; his cousin, whom he considered a brother, Michael Elko of VA; his granddaughter, Emily Voda; and his great-grandchildren, Bentley, Harper, and Destiny. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Voda (d. Nov. 5, 2017) and Connie Voda Blake (d. Nov 19, 2018).
A Memorial Service for Richard will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA with Reverend Charles Bishop officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the American Diabetes Association at ADAEastPA@diabetes.org .
