Robert G. Jennings Sr., of Meshoppen, PA passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, November 11, 2021, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
He was born in Meshoppen, PA on January 15, 1940 the son of the late Robert B. and Anna Bishop Jennings. Growing up near Tunkhannock, PA, Bob was a graduate of the Tunkhannock High School with the class of 1957.
After his graduation from high school, Bob started working for the Pennsylvania Highway Department, he then was employed at Bendix Corp., and for over 25 years, he was employed at Procter and Gamble Paper Products in Mehoopany, PA, retiring in 1995.
On August 31, 1957, he married the love of his life, the former Nancy J. Ladner, of Meshoppen. They were married for 64 years, a love that started early in their life and continued throughout their entire life. Bob enjoyed helping his children build and remodel their homes. In his spare time he liked to hunt and fish, throughout the years. Bob especially liked to work in his gardens and share plants from his gardens. He loved to entertain family and friends on his back porch, and loved every chance he got to golf with his sons. Bob's greatest passion was being with his wife of 64 years and their family and many friends. Bob had such a good soul he will be missed by many.
Surviving is the love of his life, Nancy Ladner Jennings of Meshoppen, PA, his daughter, Darlene Jennings, of Meshoppen, PA; his sons, Robert (Tammy) Jennings Jr., of Meshoppen, PA; Keith (Ann Marie) Jennings, of Dimock, PA, Douglas Jennings, of Bardwell, PA. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, and his seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Sackett.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 Main St., Meshoppen, PA with his niece Terry Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Overfield Cemetery in Meshoppen, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon November 14, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
