Robert "Bob" Caswell, Jr., age 87, of Wyalusing, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Sunday morning, January 18, 2015 at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA.
Robert was born on February 14, 1927 in Lime Hill, PA, and was the son of the late Mervil Van Kuren Caswell and Robert Caswell, Sr.
He was a graduate of Wyalusing High School with the class of 1945. After high school Robert served his country in the US Army during World War II.
He owned "Caswell's Store" in Wyalusing prior to his employment with Masonite Corporation in Wysox, PA, from 1966 until his retirement in 1989.
Bob was a member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Wyalusing American Legion. He sang in a barbershop group, and loved reading, working in his garden, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He and his wife of 57 years, Joan enjoyed taking bus trips for several years after his retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife, the former Joan Mosier, who he married on April 21, 1957; his children, Janet Caswell of Elmira, NY and Dave Caswell and his wife Maryellen of Port Matilda, PA; and his grandchildren, Michael Caswell and Meghan Caswell of Port Matilda, PA. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Caswell and Richard Caswell.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Wyalusing Public Library, 115 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA 18853. It was Bob's wishes not to have any services.
