Obituary

Robert K. "Robbie" Wiles, age 55, of Main St., Laceyville, PA, passed away the early morning hours, on Saturday September 2, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Wilkes Barre, PA. Robbie has had serious health issues for the last couple of years.

Robbie was born in Tunkhanock, PA, the only child of Lawrence E. and Cheryl A. Carter Wiles. Growing up in Laceyville he spent all of his time, hanging out with his many friends in Laceyville. Those times were very special to Rob in his early years.

Robbie was a graduate of the Wyalusing Valley High School, with the class of 1986. After high school, he was employed at many local businesses, including Taylor Packing in Wyalusing, PA, Procter and Gamble Paper, in Mehoopany, PA, R.G. Brown Refuse, in Laceyville, PA, but his time working and cleaning up the streets and properties in Laceyville were his favorite times. His father, Larry Wiles, took it upon himself to beautify the homes and streets of Laceyville, for many years, until his death in 2008. Shortly after his father's death, Robbie took over his father's jobs around their home, his neighbor's homes, and all of Laceyville's streets. For the last 15 years, it has been Robbie's passion to make Laceyville homes and streets look the best. Rob could be seen all year long sweeping, mowing, and using his leaf blower, not just on his property, but all over town.

His home in Laceyville, has been a show place, with all of the flowers planted, the countless Stars, Eagles, and so many other decorations on and around his home. His passion of flowers took him to many nurseries and stores to buy all of his flowers and flower bed decorations throughout the spring and summer.

Also, after the death of his father, it was also Robbie's responsibility to take care of his mother, Cheryl, until her death in 2016. It was only after her death, that Rob got to travel outside of Pennsylvania, visiting many places along the eastern coast of the Coralina's, Virginia, Delaware, and New Jersey. Being a big Dallas Cowboy fan, one of his favorite destinations, was to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Rob was also a huge fan of the New York Yankees, and his favorite NASCAR driver was Dale Ernhardt.

Surviving is his aunt, Susan Carter, of Montrose, PA, his uncle, Reid Carter, of Stevensville, PA, and his aunt and uncle, Carol and Victor Lutz, of Virginia. Also surviving are his cousins, Shantel Gamble, of Florida, Anson Carter of Tunkhannock, PA, and Danielle Carter, of Retta, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by Beth and Charlie Dodge, his aunt and uncle, and his cousin, Dustin Ball.
