Roger Merl Salsman, passed away at his home in Winter Springs, FL on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at the age of 79.

Roger was born in Windham Township, PA, on September 9, 1944 to Ralph and Gertrude Woodruff Salsman. Roger graduated from Wyalusing High School and then served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his service, Roger returned to his home town and worked for several years before owning and operating his own welding business until he retired. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.

He married the former, Linda Honeywell in 1965 and together they had three children, Dell, Scott, and Kylie.

Roger was a member of Wyalusing American Legion Post # 534 , VFW Posts, of Montrose, PA and of Winter Springs, FL.

Roger leaves behind his loving wife Linda, sons Dell (Wendy) Salsman, of Mehoopany, PA, Scott (Tammy Bocchino) Salsman, of Laceyville, PA, and his daughter Kylie (Kenny Yeung) Salsman, of Casselberry, FL. His grandchildren: Eric Salsman, Taylor (George) Schwartz, Veronica Salsman, Kai Lin Yeung, Mei Lin Yeung and Korben Yeung and two great granddaughters, Lylia Salsman and Grace Salsman.  He is also survived by his siblings:  Beverly Reed of Hanover, PA, Sharon (Bill) Chaney of Montrose, PA, Andrea (Mason) Sterling of Laceyville, PA, Judie (Bill) Muench of Laceyville, PA, Roseanna (Kevin) Carroll of Elmira, NY, Donna (Scott) Zaner of Tunkhannock, PA, He is also survived by his uncle, Carl Salsman of Laceyville, PA, his sisters-in-law, Janice Godown, Carole (Tim) Brek, and Cathy Gay, and brother-in-law, Edward "Skip" Honeywell, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by, his brother, Gene Salsman, sister-in-law, Lilly Salsman, brothers-in-law, Walter Reed, Bert Godown and Thomas Gay, father and mother-in-law, Edward Sr and Margaret Honeywell, nephews and niece, Christopher Reed, Timothy Brek, Linda Lee Godown.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Wyalusing American Legion Post # 534, in Wyalusing, PA at 1:00 PM with his Great-Nephew, Brenden Hitchcock officiating. Interment will be at the North Flat Cemetery, in Laceyville, PA at later date at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the American Legion on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Military Honors Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, prior to the Memorial Services at the Wyalusing American Legion, by the members of the Wyalusing American Legion Post # 534.
