Romaine L. Salsman, age 84, of 6659 Spring Hill Rd., Wyalusing, PA. (Spring Hill), passed away at his home in Tuscarora twp., Bradford Co., early Monday morning, November 30, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife, and his family.

Romaine was born on August 28, 1931 in Sayre, PA., the oldest son of thirteen children, born to the late Howard and Vera Woodruff Salsman Sr. Growing up on Golden Hill, Wyoming Co., PA, Romaine attended the Laceyville High School. On March 6, 1949, he married the former Betty R. Winslow.

For many years, Romaine was a self-employed carpenter, building and repairing many homes and barns in throughout Wyoming and Bradford Counties. For many years, in his earlier years in his life he was employed as a quarryman, and blaster, at many quarries, and also worked in the logging business.

For over 50 years, Romaine has been a member of the NRA; in his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and many friends. He also loved working in his woodshop and garage, building many Aggravation Game Boards, and working on his cars. He always loved being surrounded by his large family and attending family get-togethers.

Romaine is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty R. Winslow Salsman of Spring Hill; and his children, James Salsman (Teralin Aker) of Camptown, PA; Roy and Sandy Salsman, of Hagertown, NM; Diana and Joseph Fuller, of Kingsley, PA; Ruth Wannamaker, of Belleview, FL; Romaine "Bromo" and Tammy Salsman, of Milan, PA; and Robin "Scruffy" Salsman (Bobbi Brotzman), of Spring Hill, PA; and 29 grandchildren; 34 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous Great-Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 sisters; Reatha Robinson, of Golden Hill, PA; Marlene Rodriguez, of Silvara, PA; Linda Brown, and Joanne Salsman, both of Golden Hill, PA; and two brothers, Richard and Darlene Salsman, of Meshoppen, PA; and Jeffrey and Norneen Salsman, of Golden Hill, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Howard Salsman Jr.; and six brothers, Duane Salsman; Maynard Salsman; Eldon Salsman; David Salsman; Lyle Salsman; and Edsel Salsman, two grandsons, Cory Salsman; and Roy Salsman Jr; a Granddaughter, Carol Anne Salsman; and a Great-Grandson, Romaine Lyle Salsman Jr.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Spring Hill United Methodist Church, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Heather M. Baker-McAllister of the church officiating. Interment will follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
