Ronald Lyle Campbell, age 82, of Merryall, PA passed away Thursday morning, January 18, 2024 at the Allied Services Hospice Unit.

Ron was born on April 21, 1941 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Fred Lyle Campbell (d. 1994) and Alice Seymour Campbell (d. 1998).  He was a graduate of Wyalusing High School with the class of 1959.  After high school, Ron served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as a Supervisor for the Bendix Corporation for 33 years.  He also worked on farm equipment for Berg Equipment for seven years.  Most recently he helped on Pete Solowiej's farm.

Ron was a member of the Camptown Community Church, the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534, the Towanda V.F.W. Post #1568, and a lifetime member of the NRA.  In high school he was a member of the FFA and was the club's president during his senior year.  Ron had a quirky sense of humor that everyone loved.  He enjoyed having peanut butter and ice cream everyday and took great pleasure in taking walks daily.  His greatest joy was working on farm equipment and cleaning his tractors.

Ron is survived by his siblings, Arden Campbell of Clapper Hill, PA and Barbara Cook and her husband, Roger of Vestal, NY; his brother-in-law, Robert Franklin of Hughesville, PA; his nieces and nephews, Diane Franklin, Randy and Sandy Campbell, Rick and Robin Campbell, Lynn and Christina Campbell, Linda Bennett, and Aaron and Andrea Campbell; as well as many great nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Karen Campbell and Janice Franklin; his sister-in-law, Norma Jean Campbell; and his niece, Michelle Angel.

Funeral services for Ron will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Reverend Helen Learn and Reverend David Dewing both of the Camptown Community Church officiating.  Interment with a Military Honor Service will take place at a later date at the Camptown Cemetery.
