Obituary
Ronald "Ron" Richard Hunsinger, age 66, of Sugar Run, PA, passed away on Saturday evening, February 3, 2018, peacefully at his house surrounded by his family.
Ron was born on July 8, 1951, in Meshoppen, PA, the son of the late Ronald Hunsinger and Betty Blaisure Hunsinger. Ron attended and graduated from Elk Lake High School with the Class of 1969. After high school Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On August 16, 1990, Ron married his wife Rose, the couple were married for 27 years but they have been together for over 35 years. Ron worked as a greens keeper and superintendent for over 25 years at Shadowbrook Resort in Tunkhannock, PA. Ron loved to play golf but he also loved to go swimming with his grandchildren. He liked to attend football and baseball games as well. But most of all Ron loved to be around his family, spending time with them, and was known for spoiling his grandchildren.
Besides his wife of 27 years, Rose, of Sugar Run, PA, Ron is survived by his children Rachel Vanderwel; Richard Earl Hunsinger; Neil Hunsinger; Christopher Hunsinger and his wife Laura; Angela Hunsinger; and Matthew Hunsinger and his wife Sam; also surviving are his grandchildren Penelope Vanderwel; Oliver Vanderwel; Vivica Rose Hunsinger; Marley Rayne Hunsinger; Raymond Scott Hunsinger; Avery Hunsinger; Aubree Sallsgiver; and Elaine Sallsgiver. Ron is also survived by his sisters Linda Mae Kamaraukas (Frank); Lorraine Felton; and Ann Lorriane Hunsinger; brothers Billy Ray Hunsinger; James Hunsinger (Renee); and Ricky Hunsinger; step mother Anna Mae Hunsinger; and brother-in-law Miles Krause as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents Ron was preceded in death by his son David Hunsinger; sister Caroline Krause; sister-in-law Laurie Hunsinger; and brother-in-law William "Bill" Felton.
Abiding by Ron's wishes there will be no funeral services.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Daryl Salsman and Robin Warley for helping Rose with Ron's wish to be home for his final days.
