Russell H. Robinson, age 82, of Mehoopany, PA went to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, October 5, 2026 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Born in Sayre, PA on December 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Hugh and Marion Phinney Robinson. Russell attended Wyalusing Valley High School and was a proud graduate of the class of 1961. In 1965, he was married to Carol Ann Romanecs and the two began what would be many happy years together.

Russell traveled to many places, hauling goods as a truck driver, first for several different companies before eventually becoming the owner and operator of his own rig. He also spent a good deal of time farming and logging. When not working, Russell could often be found out in the woods hunting or on a body of water with his fishing rod. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Russell is survived by his children, Paul Robinson (Debby) of Shavertown, PA and Lynn Smith (Dave), of Mehoopany, PA; his grandchildren, James Smith (Helen) of Forkston, PA, Amber Adams (John) of Laceyville, PA, and Ashley DeLair (James II) of Forkston, PA; his great-grandchildren, Jamison Mood, Hailey Smith, Scarlett Smith, Leighnia Smith, James DeLair III, Ashton DeLair, and Aaden Adams; and his sister, Louise Place (Robert) of Mehoopany, PA. He is also survived his half sisters-in-law, Shirley Jones of Harvey’s Lake, PA and Delores Jones of Madisonville, KY; and his two beloved dogs, Clyde and Little Man.

Along with his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his half-siblings, Bryce Jones and Lyle Jones, as well as Ethel Jones Rogers and her husband Ronald.

Russell’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ann Schooley of Homebound Health Services. Her compassionate care, kindness, and support offered during his time of need will always be remembered and greatly appreciated.

A Funeral Service in Russell’s honor will be held at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA 18623 on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Nick Graves of the Mehoopany Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA immediately following the funeral service.
