Samantha Lyn "Sam" Carlin, age 22, of Mehoopany, PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday afternoon at her home in Mehoopany twp., Wyoming Co., PA.
Sam was born in Towanda, PA on September 19, 1994 the daughter of Carl L. and Maxine L. Ralph Owen of Laceyville, PA. Growing up in and around the Laceyville area, Sam attended the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 2014. She also attended the Bradford County Vo-Tech, enrolled in the Cosmetology Program. While in school, Sam enjoyed music, and was a member of the school choir, she also enjoyed art, especially drawing and sketching.
On December 27, 2013, Sam married, Caleb Elijah Carlin, of South Auburn, PA, and together they had two children, their daughter, Gracelynn Elizabeth-Rayne Carlin, age 2 years; and their son Garrett Ian Carlin, age 2 months. Sam loved her family dearly and cherished her children. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and was a collector of many Stephen King novels. Sam also loved being surrounded by her extended family. Besides her own children, she loved the time that she got to spend with other children, to hold and spoil them.
Besides her husband, children and parents, she is survived by her siblings, Ashley Owen, of Mehoopany, PA; Kyle Owen of Sayre, PA; Alicia McKitrick, of Endicott, NY and Cameron Owen, of Laceyville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Sam is also survived by her Paternal Grandmother, Jennie Marie Owen of Laceyville, PA; mother in law and father in law, Tina and Gerald Carlin of Meshoppen, PA, and sisters in law, Lydia Carlin, of Tunkhannock, PA; Ashley (James) Gesek, of Factoryville, PA; and Deanna Carlin, of Scranton, PA; also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the New Hope Ministries, West Auburn, PA, with Pastor Tim Barnett, of the church officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
