Sandra K. "Sandy" Owen Thompson, age 57, of Laceyville, PA, passed away at her home, unexpectedly early Sunday morning, February 26, 2023.

Sandy was born in Tunkhannock, PA on April 12, 1965, the daughter of Jennie M. Wandall Owen, of Laceyville, PA, and the late Francis H. Owen, who passed away on February 2, 2006.

Growing up and living her entire life in Laceyville, PA, Sandy was a graduate of the Elk Lake High School, with the class of 1984. After high school, she was employed for over 20 years, at Donald Dean and Sons in Montrose, PA. Sandy was also employed for over 7 years, at Cargill Packing in Wyalusing, PA, until her retirement in 2020.

In her spare time, she enjoyed family outings and picnics, and especially her time that she got to spend with her grandsons, enjoying their sporting events and activities. Sandy always enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles, and watching NASCAR Racing, rooting on her favorite drivers over the years, Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Harrison Burton. Sandy enjoyed going to the local casinos and was always very lucky playing the lottery, especially scratch off tickets.

Surviving besides her mother, is her daughter, Stephanie Thompson, of Mildred, PA, and her three grandsons, Lucas Belcher, Carter Thompson, and Zander Thompson, all of Mildred, PA. Sandra is also survived by her siblings, Carol Estell of Montrose, PA; Carl (Maxine) Owen, of Laceyville, PA; and Dennis Owen, of Laceyville, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her sister Sharon Franklin, who passed away on January 5, 2002, her brother Eugene Owen, who passed away on March 5, 1996 and her nephew, Cody Franklin, who passed away on August 9, 2021.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA with Rev. Lawrence Reed, of the Harvey's Lake Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will be in the Lacey St. Cemetery, in Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
