Shirley M. Conroy, age 80, of Silvara, PA (formerly of Herrickville), passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Shirley was born on August 1, 1935 in New York, NY the daughter of the late William and Mary Cahill Wells.

She was employed as a Teacher's Aide at the Towanda Area School District for 15 years before she retired in 2006. She took great pleasure in working with the school especially helping the children. Shirley enjoyed reading, playing cards, antique shopping and loved to cook. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her daughters and spouses, Joyce Stankiewicz (Kenneth) of White Haven, PA and Kathleen Johnson (Willie) of Woodbridge, VA; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Conroy of Port Pen, PA; her grandchildren, Kevin Conroy of Port Pen, DE, Scott Conroy (Theresa) of Beachwood, NJ, Matthew Conroy of Beachwood, NJ, Patricia Conroy of Beachwood, NJ, Emily Conroy of Port Pen, DE, Jesse Conroy of Woodbridge, VA, Amanda Stankiewicz (Clark Bailey) of Freeland, PA, Cory Johnson (Chelsea) of Springfield, VA, Dominique Johnson (Anthony Taylor) of Charlotte, NC, and Colby Johnson of Manassas, VA; her great-grandchildren Lilly Conroy, Claire Conroy, Adriana Conroy, Audrey Worthington, Cory Johnson, Aniyah Johnson, Alaina Johnson, Ryan Taylor, Harmony Taylor, and Marley Taylor; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Conroy, Sr. in 2007, her son John R. Conroy, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
