Stanley J. Bonavita, age 41, of Auburn, PA, tragically passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018.

Stanley was born on October 7, 1976 in Tunkhannock, PA, the son of the late John J. Bonavita Sr., who passed away on October 14, 2015 and Mary Ann Bullock Bonavita, who passed away on January 24, 2013. Stanley graduated from Elk Lake High School with the Class of 1995. While in high school he was a member of the ski club and Boy Scouts Troop 88 in Auburn, PA.

Stanley worked on the Bonavita Family Farm for a number of years. He was also a truck driver for Hughey Trucking of Tunkhannock, PA, Bill Mead Trucking of Kingsley, PA, Pelton Trucking of Monroeton, PA, C. Bonavita Trucking with his brother Chris and was currently working for Meshoppen Stone.

Stanley was a member of 4-H and the DES Dairy 4-H Club and would show cattle at the Hartford Fair. He also showed cattle at the Wyoming County Fair, Bloomsburg Fair, Luzerne County Fair, and in Harrisburg at the Pennsylvania State Show and the Pennsylvania Farm Show. Stanley liked to bowl and was a member of the Sunday Starlite League and the Monday night Men's League. He played softball in the Friday Night Co-Ed League as well as many other leagues in the area. He also liked to go golfing. Stanley also liked to hunt around the family farm in Auburn, PA and elk hunting in Colorado. He would go snowmobiling in Tug Hill, NY. Stanley's favorite interest was in truck and tractor pulling. He was a member of the Professional Pulling League, and he was in 4 ^th place in points for the Empire State Pullers for the current pulling year in 2018. He loved being around his family and extended family. But most of all, Stanley was a loving father of his three children and cherished them dearly. They were his world, he loved spending time with them, showing animals for 4-H, and taking them hunting.

Stanley is survived by his wife Jennifer L. Teel Bonavita of Auburn, PA; his three children Alex J. Bonavita, Austin J. Bonavita, and Autumn J. Bonavita all of Auburn, PA; his siblings Cherie A. Bonavita, Cindy L. Bonavita, and Patty L. Bonavita all of Auburn, PA. Also surviving is his God-Son and nephew Kyle R. Bonavita of Auburn, PA; mother-in-law Connie Teel of Meshoppen, PA; sister-in-law Lisa Smith of Meshoppen, PA; brothers-in-law Roger (Brandy) Teel of Meshoppen, PA; Duane (Jennifer) Teel of Dimock, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Stanley was preceded in death by his brother John J. Bonavita Jr. (December 8, 2014); sister Lori M. Bonavita (October 14, 2015); brother Chris B. Bonavita (April 16, 2016); and father-in-law Kenneth O. Teel (February 19, 2013).

Funeral services for Stanley will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Jersey Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, September 25, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
