Stephen John Conway, age 29, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, tragically passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Stephen was born on August 14, 1988 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of Martin Stover and Catherine Conway. He attended and graduated from the Wilkes-Barre Area High School with the Class of 2007. After high school Stephen proudly served his country for four years in the United States National Guard with the 109 ^th Infantry Regiment of West Pittston, PA. Stephen was stationed in Iraq for one year during Iraq War. He has worked as a landscaper in the Wilkes-Barre area for over the last three years.

Stephen was a man who loved the outdoors. He had a passion for nature that included kayaking, hiking, fishing, and rock climbing. He will be missed by his best dog companion Daisy. Stephen's greatest passion in life was his family, he loved to be around his family and will be deeply missed by all.

Stephen is survived by his mother Catherine Conway (Dale Gardinor) of Wilkes-Barre, PA; father Martin Stover of Tunkhannock, PA (Denise Chamberlin Stover of Meshoppen, PA); his siblings Logan Stover, Jewell Stover, Nathaniel Sheldon, Patrick Gardinor, Sarah Gardinor, Erin Gardinor, and Josh Gardinor; grandparents Wayne and Rachel Berry. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Patricia Conway (Olie Rose III); Marion Dennis (Vincent); Annette Spangler (John); Gerry Jackson (Leroy); Margaret Torres (Ermel); Marshall Stover (Ruby); Katherine Oslin (Bob); Cookie Sicker; Randi Tourscher (Don); Billy Stover; Donald Chamberlin (Theresa); Ben Chamberlin (Cheryl); James Berry (Lisa); as well as several cousins. Stephen was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents John D. and Norma Kelly Conway; paternal grandparents Zeno and Katherine Stover; Donald L. Chamberlin and his aunt Jackie Conway.

A celebration of life for Stephen will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR, Meshoppen, PA. A Military Honor Service will be conducted at 9:00 PM by the members of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534 of Wyalusing, PA, the Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion of Black Walnut, PA, the Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion of Tunkhannock, PA; and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post # 3583 of Mehoopany, PA. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Stephen's name to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd, South Abington Township, PA 18411.
