Thomas Allen Keiber Sr., age 73, of Wilkes-Barre, PA, passed away early Monday morning, March 27, 2017 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Thomas was born on September 27, 1943 in Oceanside, Long Island, NY the son of the late Harry Keiber Sr. and Helen Voigt Keiber. At the age of 12, he and his family moved to Pittstown, NJ. He graduated from the Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington NJ, with the Class of 1961. In 1975 he moved to South Auburn, PA with his parents and in 1984 he moved to Wilkes-Barre, PA. Thomas worked for Aldovin Dairy for a number of years and he also worked for Proctor and Gamble in Mehoopany, PA as a technician for over three years. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees, he took various trips to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yankees play.
Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas Keiber Jr. of Wyalusing, PA; daughter Lucille Keiber of Wyalusing, previous wife Patricia Keiber of Wyalusing, step-daughter Jessica Murphy of Noxen, PA; step-grandchildren Staci Stine of Noxen, PA; Kendra Stine of Noxen, PA; Benjamin Franklin Stine IV of Hop Bottom, PA; and great-step grandson Timber Patrick Sheffler of Noxen, PA. Also surviving is his sister Janet Keiber of Piscataway, NJ; brother Harry Keiber Jr. and his wife Helen of Shallotte, NC; nephew Harry Keiber III and his wife Lisa of Hendersonville, NC; aunt Kathy Grossman of Florida; caretaker Barb Bartles of Wilkes-Barre, PA; friend Darryl Shinko and Wilkes-Barre, PA; and several cousins and nephews.
Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, PA on Thursday evening, April 6, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, April 7, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the North Flat Cemetery with Reverend Heather Baker-McAllister of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church conducting the service.
