Thomas Anthony Lis, age 75, of Herrickville, PA passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.

Tom was born on June 25, 1940 in New York, NY the son of the late Anthony and Edith Brooks Lis.

He graduated from Butler High School in New Jersey with the class of 1958. He then graduated from Newark College of Engineering in 1966 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed with Bradford County as an IT Technician. He also worked on the patent for the Cathode Ray Tube while employed in New Jersey.

Tom married the former Joan Barrett on July 16, 1961. Together they raised two daughters and a son.

He was a member of the Dive Rescue Team in New Jersey, a member and past President of the Lions Club in Bloomingdale, NJ. He bowled in various leagues in NJ and Wyalusing, PA. He coached Little League in NJ and was very active in karate. He enjoyed working out at the gym, cooking, fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, and watching Sci-Fi shows including Star Wars and Star Trek. He was a faithful New York Giants fan. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joan Lis of home; his daughters Dawn Jordan and her husband Ralph of Elmira, NY and Stacy Jayne and her husband Michael of Laceyville, PA; his son Kyle Lis of Wyalusing, PA; his grandchildren Brandon Jayne and wife Cheryl of Sweet Valley, PA, Alana Ciccora and husband Derek of Corning, NY, Justin Jayne and his fiancé Kelly Miller of Horseheads, NY, and Trenton Lis of Laceyville, PA; his great-grandchildren Mason and Maura Jayne of Sweet Valley, PA; his sister Carolyn Weag and husband Chester of Matawan, NJ; his close friends Vicki Heath and Herb and Barb Hoover; as well as many nieces, nephews, and brother/sister-in-laws. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law John and Sarah Barrett, his beloved aunt and uncle George and Christine Kuezek, and many brother/sister-in-laws.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Pastor Richard Davis of the Guthrie Hospice officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until the time of the service.
