Thomas James Lynch, 69, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 while surrounded by his loving wife and sons at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, FL.

He was born on November 26, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA.  Tom was the son of the late John and Marjorie (McCluskey) Lynch.  He attended Arch Bishop Wood High School in Warminster, PA.  He earned a football scholarship to Kutztown University and graduated with a degree in Business Management.  He worked in the beef industry and was recruited to work in a management position at Cargill in Wyalusing, PA.  Tom loved the area and met and married his wife of nearly 22 years, Julia Preston Lynch.  After his retirement, they divided their time between Wyalusing and Venice, FL.

Tom greatly enjoyed the role of coaching his sons' teams in baseball and basketball from ages 5 – 13.  He also umpired baseball games and refereed basketball games during those years for the local community.  He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Notre Dame football, as well as baseball.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Julia Preston Lynch of Wyalusing; his children, Thomas Lynch (Christina) of Telford, PA, Daniel Lynch (Annetta) of Marlton, NJ; his stepdaughter, Andrea Campbell (Aaron) of Stevensville, PA; his stepson, Alexander Ochse (Emily) of Colchester, CT; his grandchildren, Lydia Lynch, Thomas Lynch, Avalyn Lynch, Brady Lynch, Olivia Campbell, Hayden Campbell, Henry Ochse, and Jack Ochse.  He is also survived by his siblings Jack Lynch (Barbara), Maureen Nicolai (Jon), William Lynch (Anne), Robert  Lynch (Deborah), James Lynch (Marisa); his father-in-law, Floyd Preston (Doris Holdren Preston); his brother-in-law, Christopher Preston; and his late sister's long time companion, Dennis Ritter.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Elizabeth Albert-Lynch and Christopher Lynch (Connie) and his mother-in-law, Barbara Preston.

A memorial service for Tom will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Community Church officiating.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will take place at a later date at the Spring Hill Cemetery.
