Thomas Gerald Merritt, age 39, of Mehoopany, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021.

Thomas was born in Tunkhannock, PA on September 5, 1982, the son of the late Thomas Lee Merritt and Deborah Louise Brown.  Growing up in the Laceyville area, he attended Wyalusing High School and later worked as a laborer and driver around the Mehoopany area.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Louise Brown Merritt of Mehoopany, PA; his step-mother, Lisa Merritt of Camptown, PA; his siblings, Ashley Merritt of Mehoopany, PA, Tonya Merritt, of Camptown, PA, Joshua Merritt of Camptown, PA, and Erin Watkins of Camptown, PA.  Thomas is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and cousins.

Besides his father, Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, George Farr; and his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Beverly Brown, and paternal grandparents Jack and Gladys Merritt.

A memorial service for Thomas will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Thomas' name to the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA 18623, to help with the cost of the services for Thomas.
