Veleda Mae (Mullinex) Fassett age 86, of Wyalusing, Pennsylvania passed away at Golden Living Nursing Home, Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania on November 25, 2015 from natural causes.
Veleda was born at home on Bunnell Hill in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania on May 28, 1929 to the late Ernest and Lillian (Redmond) Mullinex. Veleda attended the Jenningsville Pennsylvania school and graduated in 1945. She was a housewife and also worked for many years at the Herman Rynvelds & Son plant in New Albany until it closed in 1991.

Veleda married the late Henry Levo Fassett Sr. on April 2, 1945 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage raising five children. Her joy was her family and being a farmer's housewife for many years. After retiring she enjoyed many trips to Florida visiting her family there and visiting grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo at Park Place Wyalusing senior center and listening to music especially country and western and hymnals. Veleda was a resident of Park Place from 1997 until 2013 when she went to Golden Living Nursing Home.

Veleda was predeceased by her mother Lillian Mullinex who passed in 1967, her father Ernest Mullinex passed away in 1973, a brother Anson Leroy Mullinex in 1982, and her beloved husband, Henry Fassett on January 24, 1996, also a son in law, David Decker of St. Augustine, Florida in 2013.

She is survived by a brother, Redmond Mullinex, Athens, PA, Sister, Loretta Wittig, Tunkhannock, PA. Five children; Henry and Merlyn Fassett, Laceyville, PA, Bonnie Decker Lovelton, PA, Sharon Wilk of Fresno, CA, Carol and John Newmans of St. Augustine, Fl, Dale Fassett also of St. Augustine, Florida. Her grandchildren; William and Andrea Fassett, Nicholson, PA, Paul Fassett of Meshoppen, PA, Deborah and Robert Freve of Green Cove, Fl, Jody Beasley of St. Augustine, Fl, Nicole Algar of Lovelton, PA, Matthew Wilk of TX, April and William Hallford of Abilene, TX, Kristina Cheng, Fresno, CA, Jessica and Keith Smith, Fresno, CA, Christopher and Teri Newmans, St. Augustine, FL, Daniel Newmans, St. Augustine, FL, Jamie and Edward Linski , Laceyville, PA, Nichole and Nathan Casselbury, Monroeton, PA, Derek Fassett, Towanda, PA. Her great-grandchildren: Sophia and Olivia Fassett of Nicholson, PA, Cody and Zachary Middle of St. Augustine, FL, Caitlin and Nicholas Algar of Lovelton, PA, Matthew and Harley Wilk, TX, Kaitlin, Bradley Halford Abilene, TX, Lauren Wilk, Fresno, CA, Rylie Smith Fresno, CA, Samantha Knolles, Wyalusing, PA, Colton and Cooper Linski of Laceyville, PA, Kiera Casselbury, Monroeton, PA, Aliya Fassett, Towanda, PA. One great-great-granddaughter; Braelyn Cobb, Wyalusing, PA.

Funeral services will be held at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 with Reverend Dr. Karen Ballard of the Rome Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Vaughn Cemetery in Mehoopany, PA. Viewing will be 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with services starting promptly at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers: Grandson's, William, Paul and Derek Fassett, Grandson in law, Ed Linski, Great grandson in law, Grandson in law, Nathan Casselbury, and Grandson in law Steven Linski.
