Virgie Learn, age 96, passed away on Friday morning, November 8, 2024 at the Terrace at Bishops Glen in Holly Hill, FL.

Born on June 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Euphrasia Stevens Baker.  Upon graduation from Meshoppen High School, Virgie went to work at Whipple's Lumber Yard where she worked her entire working life. She also worked for her husband, Richard Bryce "R.B." Learn (d. March 6, 2009), at RB Learn Furniture and Appliances.  She was a dedicated member and Sunday school teacher at Skinners Eddy United Methodist Church.

Surviving Virgie is her daughter, Larice McCann of Philadelphia, PA; her grandchildren, Kristina Repchick (Michael) of Meshoppen, PA, Kyle Learn of Chicago, IL, Joshua Learn (Kathleen) of Port Orange, FL, Jessica McCann Hanley (Keith) of Newark, DE, and Richard McCann of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ronald Learn, many great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, Virgie is preceded in death by her children, Gregory Learn (d. Dec. 20, 2021), and Jeffery Learn (d. June 12, 2020); her grandchildren Joel Learn (d. April 6, 2023) and Justin Learn (d. Jan. 12, 2023); and her brothers, Rodney Baker (d. Feb. 17, 2014) and Gordon Baker (d. May 14, 2001).

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Church officiating.  Interment will follow at the Jersey Hill Cemetery.
