Wilbert V. Beers, age 92, of Dushore, PA, passed away on Friday morning, August 10, 2018 at the Highlands Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Laporte, PA.

Wilbert was born on October 25, 1925 in Weissport, PA, the son of the late Roland W. and Iona Holsizer Beers. He was married to the former Joyce W. Smith and the couple was together for 60 years until her passing on October 21, 2007. Wilbert proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was stationed and fought in Central Europe. He worked as a crane operator for United States Steel in Levittown, PA as well as industrial construction companies until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the US Steelworkers Union Local #4489 and also a member of the Levittown VFW #6495.

Wilbert is survived by his two sons Terry Beers and Ricky Beers. Wilbert is also survived by two grandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Ann Klotc of Parryville, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Wilbert was preceded in death by his sister Lillian Boyer and brother Robert Beers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Sullivan Terrace in Dushore, PA with close friend Robert Morgan officiating. A Military Honor Service will be held before the memorial service. Interment will follow at Colley Cemetery.
