Obit for William H. Fassett Jr.

Mr. William H. Fassett Jr., age 76, of Rushville, PA., passed away suddenly at the Endless Mountains Health Systems in Montrose, PA. on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2013.
Bill was born in Sayre, PA. on Feb. 24, 1936, the son of the late William H. and Ella E. Farr Fassett Sr.
Bill was employed at Whipple Bros. Lumber in Laceyville, PA. and for many years, he was employed as a laborer at the Louden Hill Farms in Dimock, PA. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the last few years were filled with the enjoyment of being surrounded by his family, especially looking forward to seeing and being with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, whom he married on Oct. 16, 1957, the former Marian A. Walter Fassett, of Rushville, PA.; his son, Timothy M. (Ginger) Fassett of Lawton, PA.; and his 5 daughters, Evelyn L. (Jim) Wells of Meshoppen, PA.; Helen C. Hollister, of Dimock, PA.; Linda L. (Donald) Tompkins, of Hallstead, PA.; Bonnie L. LaCount (Dave Graham) of Birchardville, PA. and Rachel (John) Saxe, of Wilmot, PA. as well as his 17 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by five brothers, Clifford Fassett, of Lawton, PA.; Richard (Ruth) Fassett, of Sugar Run; PA; David (Margaret) Fassett, of Laceyville, PA.; Chuck (Joyce) Fassett, of Laceyville, PA.; and Ed (Lynn) Fassett, of Meshoppen, PA. and his three sisters, Mary (William) Walter, of Towanda, PA.; Martha (Steve) Boyce, of Wyalusing, PA.; Iva Fassett of Laceyville, PA.; a sister in law, Elsie Fassett, of Lawton, PA. and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Francis Thomas Fassett, on July 17, 2005; a sister Evelyn Fassett on Aug. 31, 1947, and a brother Perle Fassett on Oct. 1,2012.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday Jan. 31, 2013, at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, PA. with Rev. Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Jersey Hill Cemetery in Meshoppen, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
